Judy Baechle has been at Bethke since it opened. She takes great pride in maintaining a clean, warm, reader-friendly library! She orders in the titles that kids want and displays books monthly that align with grade level units. She loves to read aloud to the children and share the newest in literature. Thanks, Judy, for all you do!
Tom Lockman opened Bethke five years ago as our head custodian. He manages all of the maintenance, cleaning, safety, and deliveries for Bethke. He takes great pride in every aspect of our school. Our staff and children's safety are his top priority. This year he is assisted by Rusty, who goes out of his way to help those after hours. We appreciate these guys for all they do behind the scenes everyday at Bethke!
On this first day of classified appreciation week in schools, I want to honor and thank our three ladies who run our front office. Nancy Gray, our office manager, schedules the building, does all of the ordering and inventory, manages the money, and keeps us all organized! Jill Brase, our attendance clerk and registrar, enrolls all new students, organizes records, and manages attendance daily. Meg Sollee, our health tech, takes care of the bumps and bruises, comforts kids when they are ill, and keeps track of all medical conditions and records. They do cover for each other and can help you with any of your needs if someone is out or busy. Thank you ladies for taking care of us all!
Each day this week, I will highlight different classified staff so you know who works with your children daily.
What a terrific evening with Gary Johnston sharing "Taking the Hassle out of Getting Kids to Read!" While over 80 parents learned new strategies to engage their kids in reading, our fabulous teachers played games and did read alouds with our bobcats in the library. It was a fun family literacy night!
